Cop fires at minivan full of kids after traffic-stop scuffle in New Mexico
Mon Nov 18, 2013
Certainly, trying to run from the police is not too smart. But the officers should have let her leave and radioed ahead so she could be apprehended by someone who was not angry and emotional. Smashing a window and firing at a vehicle with kids inside was NOT warranted and was way unprofessional.
A year after Superstorm Sandy, numerous pets lost, abandoned remain unclaimed

In the same fashion-let's make the "abolish Rowe v. Wade" folks take all of the unwanted fertilized eggs, raise them and pay for them until they turn 18.
Michelle Duggar 'trying' to get pregnant with 20th child

In reply to: who what where #230.2 No--they don't support themselves. They are using more than their fair share of resources and contributing needlessly to population growth. It's not just about replacing old people with new ones, no matter how smart and well-behaved they are. It's …
Susan Komen CEO's salary draws fire as donations drop, races are canceled
Mon Jun 10, 2013
Give to the Salvation Army or some of the veterans' charities--research to see how much their CEOs make. While I'm grateful for Komen and American Cancer Society promoting mammograms, etc., after many years and millions of dollars no one has yet found a cure for cancer.
Who is behind the snooping? And how long has it been going on?

Why is anyone surprised or even outraged (see agflew)? Remember the movie "Enemy of the State" (1998)? Corporations--they are people according to the Supreme Court--have done it forever.

Agree with backtobasics. How is it just and humane to have a drawn-out legal battle, trial, appeals, and ultimately a room for life at the Supermax--all at our expense? There is something wrong with a system that jumps through these hoops when there's a confession.
Amid chants of 'shame,' Arizona moves to restrict transgender bathroom use
Thu Mar 28, 2013
Stupid to pass a law that can't feasibly be enforced. I personally don't go into a public restroom to check out the competition, I am on business. If you are afraid of public restrooms, plan your outings so you don't have to use one.
4-year-old kills himself with dad's stolen gun
Mon Feb 25, 2013
Why don't we address the baby [overpopulation] problem as well as the gun problem? Offer a case of liquor or carton of cigarettes to anyone who will undergo voluntary and free sterilization? Or a food stamp card for a limited time?
Who wore it best? Vote on the best Oscar looks

Agree -- why do these huge dresses seem to be the trend right now? Aside from that, I too think that there were really no super-ugly dresses this time.
Inauguration playlist: Jam to Beyonce, Kelly Clarkson and more
Thu Jan 17, 2013
The music was great, especially the Brooklyn Tabernacle Choir. But--somewhat off the subject--I think inaugurations for second term Presidents are awful. I said it when GW Bush had his second one and I will say it again for Obama.
